Cameron was able to enjoy a trip to Alaska a few weeks ago. My dad takes each grandson to Alaska when they turn 12! He had been looking forward to the trip ever since Brady went a few years ago. They had a great time. Just warning you that there are a lot of pictures.

Of course one of the main reasons to go to Alaska is for the fishing. They did plenty of that. (Another couple joined them for the trip-Cam especially enjoyed Lyle's sense of humor!) Here are some pictures of the fish they caught! (Halibut, Salmon, yellow eye, rock fish, etc)

They rented a small boat for fishing one day. 'Captain' Papa was a great guide.

When they would throw smaller fish back, two eagles would take turns swooping down and grab the fish out of the water. I think it was the only time Cameron was hoping to catch little fish. He said that they would throw it a little closer to the boat each time and that by the end of the trip the Eagles were about 5 feet from the boat.

The Eagles would take the fish to a nest high up in a nearby tree.

They set out to explore water falls and glaciers!

Jim and Cam enjoyed a dinner cruise!

A picture that my dad took of a halibut charter boat that they went on.

They were able to see lots of wildlife. At one point they were fishing one side of the river and a bear was catching fish on the other side. They also did a little Whale watching!

The scenery was beautiful!

I am glad that Dad, Jim and Cameron were able to make such great memories together. I know it will be a trip that Cameron will always remember!
There is no better young man or grandson than Cameron. Cameron, could I see photos of your camping trip? Those little killer mice must have been ferocious!
ReplyDeleteTraci, would you, please, email the header photo to me or put another copy of it in this post? I want to use it as the header for my fishing blog. Great post, by the way. Love, Dad
